Stevie and Rod rocked!
I was really impressed with Stevie Nicks' voice and song choices. Her solo work and a few Fleetwood Mac songs were thrown in after she did only one new song in the beginning. Everyone sang along to the old stuff on her song list and knew all the words (like me), which was great. Both the performance and her words showed her sincere appreciation for her fans. Her screen graphics were good, and the montage of her as a child and with her father was touching as she sang Landslide. This time, she dedicated the song to her audience instead of her Dad, which was a nice change. Rod Stewart seems to really enjoy being on stage and having fun with his audience. He winks, flirts, and "wags his bum" at the audience, enjoying every minute of it along with them. He dances energetically across the stage continuously, even after all these years. The graphics in the background screen were hilarious, especially Rod in drag. The sleeping dog video was a bit out there but funny, leaving a lasting impression. He sang his greatest hits, and the audience sang along, even during moments of silence, showcasing his great career. The soccer balls kicked out to the audience were amusing to watch as people scrambled to get them. I enjoyed the "duet" between Stevie and Rod Stewart, where Stevie sang "Young Turks" and "Passion," an odd choice. It was evident that either she has a wicked sense of humor or it was truly his idea for her to sing these songs, as she seemed to be scrambling to keep up with him on stage. Despite that, she was a trouper! This performance brought out a more human and funny side of Stevie that is not usually seen, as she is usually so rehearsed.
